On The Move
- 6 February 2024 -
New month, new colleague! Below, just the head and shoulders, but in full real body you will meet on the work floor.

And in other staff news:
  • Sehnaz Vögeli said goodbye to the department and ACREHAB and took up a new challenge in the Faculty of Sciences within Ghent University. Thank you and good luck!
  • Marie Coussens finalised a successful doctoral track and her full-time assistantship ends in the middle of this month. All the best on a personal and professional level!
  • In our staff policy plan 2024, two 20% teaching assistantships (MSS and Sports) were foreseen. Vincent Dewitte (already known and established) and Mathias Heylen (meet and greet below) were retained and started in the position on 1 February.
  • Also with staff points from the policy plan, Brecht Van Genabet and Evelyne Lauwyck have both expanded 5% in their teaching assistant positions since 1 February.
  • Lisa Leyman continues the 20% replacement of Sandra Lievrouw (parental leave) since this month.
Mathias Heylen - Teaching assistant (20%)

As a new fellow teaching assistant within the MSS-Sports, I am delighted to be part of the rehabilitation sciences department. Over the years, I built up experience within sports rehabilitation as a physiotherapist and was able to pass on my knowledge with passion as a teacher.
Besides managing my practice in Leuven, I am a dad of three fun, energetic children. I can greatly enjoy active travel with my family and find relaxation in sports, mainly basketball.
